Life Ceremonies & Rites of Passage

Married Among the Stones. Or in the Home of Magic Itself.

Most celebrants can offer you a nice hotel function room. Eva May can create your ceremony inside the stones at Stonehenge or Avebury with its Enchanted Wishing Tree as the sun comes up, or in the theatre of The Magic Circle in London, the legendary home of British magic, where Eva holds the rare honour of a gold star membership of the Inner Magic Circle.

Three of the most extraordinary ceremony venues in Britain, and one Wisewoman who holds the keys to all three. And if your heart is set on somewhere else entirely, a hilltop, a woodland, your grandmother's garden, Eva will bring the ceremony to you. It's the words and the intention that make a place sacred. She just happens to have access to a few places with a head start.

What Eva Creates

In the old days, every village had a Wisewoman, and it was she who stood at the centre of life's great thresholds: the weddings, the welcomings, the farewells. Eva carries that role forward, and she takes it seriously, which is precisely why her ceremonies never feel stiff.

Weddings & Handfastings. Your love story, handwritten into a ceremony that belongs to nobody else. Ancient handfasting rites, modern vows, solemnity, laughter, or that particular alchemy of both. Eva binds it all together, sometimes literally, with cord and ribbon in the old way. For ceremonies within the stones themselves, visit  Stonehenge Weddings, Eva's dedicated home for weddings and handfastings at the monument.

Naming Ceremonies. A proper welcome for the newest member of the family: not a formality, but a moment the whole tribe will remember, crafted around your family's own stories, hopes and mischief.

Soul Midwifery & Farewells. Eva describes herself as a Midwife for the Soul, and nowhere does that matter more than at the end of a life. She offers gentle, unhurried support through final transitions, and farewell ceremonies that honour a whole person rather than reciting a CV. Compassion first, always.

Family Rites of Passage. Coming of age, new beginnings, hard-won endings, vow renewals, blessings for a new home or a new chapter. If a moment matters to you, it deserves marking, and Eva will build the ritual to fit it.

What It's Like to Work With Her

Every ceremony begins with a conversation, usually over tea, occasionally with a cat in attendance. Eva listens for the things you don't quite say as well as the things you do, then goes away and writes. What comes back is yours: your story, your people, your particular kind of magic, balanced between reverence and joy in whatever proportion suits you.

And she carries the weight of the day so you don't have to. From the first idea to the final word, Eva minds the details, steadies the nerves, and makes sure that when the moment arrives, you are actually present inside it rather than worrying about the running order. Guests regularly tell her it was the first ceremony they've ever cried at, laughed through, and remembered word for word. That is the job, done properly.

The Household Behind the Wisewoman

Eva is a devoted mother and Grandmother, and her home is kept in order by two cats, Magic and Mabel, who contribute nothing to the business and everything to its spirit. She mentions them because you should know the sort of household your ceremony is being written in: warm, slightly enchanted, and never entirely quiet.

Begin the Conversation

Tell Eva what you're dreaming of: the stones at dawn, the velvet hush of The Magic Circle, or somewhere only you know about. She'll take it from there.
